FrontRunners: Miami Madness

On the night of December 2, an invitation-only vernissage will usher in the four-day, no-holds-barred extravaganza that is Art Basel Miami Beach (www.artbaselmiamibeach.com). This year gallery owner Michael Kohn (www.kohngallery.com) will bring works by up-and-coming and blue-chip artists; one example of the latter is Deux Femmes Nues, a 1966 Picasso drawing that fits nicely into a carry-on. Launched in 2002 as a spin-off of the Art Basel show in Switzerland, the Miami event features modern and contemporary works from more than 200 galleries worldwide.
