Guy Regal and Newel Join Forces

Guy Regal, a neoclassical furniture dealer, has joined forces with Newel, a decorative antiques house, to create the newly unveiled Guy Regal Ltd /Newel gallery, an expansive three-floor gallery on East 60th Street that will present joint exhibitions. The first exhibition, “ Neoclassicsm: Discoveries from the 18th through 20th Centuries,” is on exhibit now through November 13.   The mix of furniture and antiques is a “blending of the best of both worlds,” says Regal. Pieces range from a set of four Roman Neoclassical Armchairs, circa 1800, to a French parchment sideboard attributed to Jacques Adnet, circa 1940. “Mixing periods and styles is very important and the key to visualizing how pieces coexist with one another,” said Regal. “Finding the hidden treasures in my inventory and combining them with Guy’s to create a powerful presentation in any given period of decorative arts is exactly what we had in mind when we decided to join forces,” said Lewis Baer, Newel owner.
