St. Bernardus Abt 12
NOVEMBER 28, 2012
Alongside a small farm road in Belgium’s West Flanders region grows an eight-acre hop field belonging to the St. Bernadus brewery. The hops grown here, along with locally sourced grains and a proprietary yeast strain, make the St. Bernardus Abt 12 one of Belgium’s most distinctive quadruple-style ales. Dark brown in color and with a powerful 10 percent ABV, this brew exhibits dark fruits and a slightly syrupy mouthfeel, with a crisp finish that helps balance the beer.
