Expert Advice on Jet Cards

Flexjet 25 Jet Card Program – www.flexjet25.com

Jet cards are a popular option for travelers who want access to private jets without the commitment of ownership. The cost per hour usually works out to be higher than that of fractional ownership, but jet-card buyers avoid the up-front capital cost of a share in an airplane, and the arrangement is less complicated. The jet cards work like debit cards, paid in advance for as few as 25 hours. Once those hours are used up, it's easy to buy more or simply close the account, no strings attached.

A wide variety of options have evolved, so when shopping for a jet card, be sure to ask a lot of questions and seek out a provider who can design a custom program that's right for you. Ask which costs are included and which are add-ons, such as catering and positioning fees. Also look into discounts for off-peak travel. The Flexjet 25 Jet Card (operated by Jet Solutions, LLC under FAR Part 135), for example, offers reduced pricing on days when demand is lower. Ask whether you will always fly on the provider's fleet, or whether charter airplanes will sometimes be substituted. Be prepared to negotiate—the more flexible you can be, the better the deal you can find.

Also inquire about the capabilities of the available aircraft. If you frequently fly coast-to-coast, be sure you can access airplanes with nonstop range. If you are traveling to the Middle East or Japan, you will need a larger airplane than if most of your flights are between New York and Chicago. Also ask if different options are available for those times when you travel alone or with an entourage and lots of baggage. Some providers allow more leeway than others. The Flexjet 25 Jet Card program, for example, offers a unique option to buy half your total hours in one aircraft type and the other half in another type, choosing from any airplane in their fleet of Bombardier jets.

In today's uncertain economy, providers are working hard to offer programs that reassure buyers and meet their needs for value. "Businesses and individuals are looking for flexibility and customization, especially given the current economic climate,” says Sylvain Levesque, vice president of marketing. "Our programs offer pragmatic options to make jet-card ownership attractive and versatile." The Flexjet 25 Jet Card program says its sales are growing, with a 30 percent increase in 2008 over the previous year. To reassure new customers, the Flexjet 25 Jet Card program guarantees that if the cardholder is in any way unsatisfied, they can opt out at any point and be repaid for their remaining hours. Also, a buyer who decides to switch to fractional ownership can put any unused jet-card funds toward a share.

For flexibility, utility, value, and low risk, jet cards are hard to beat. You’ll find plenty of options, so take some time to choose the right provider for your needs, then sit back and enjoy the flight.
