London-based boot maker John Lobb opened the Mark Shine, a new shoe-shine service on the ground floor of Manhattan’s Mark hotel on East 77th Street and Madison Avenue. Hotel guests and nonguests alike can get either a 10-minute standard cream shine or a 30-minute high-glaze treatment for formal shoes (both $10) with the products used by John Lobb’s craftsmen in Northampton, England. For those staying in the hotel, there is also an in-room shoe-care service menu that allows guests to choose their treatment, drop their shoes off before bed, and have them delivered back to their room first thing in the morning.
