A Private Weekend of Pork and Pinot Noir

Charlie Palmer’s annual Pigs & Pinot event may be sold out, but now through April guests of the Hotel Healdsburg in California’s Russian River Valley can have their own Pigs & Pinot weekend with a new, two-night package offered as a part of the Healdsburg’s Epicurean Winter program. Guests who book the Pigs & Pinot Connoisseur package (from about $800 per person) will be among the lucky few to access Williams Selyem winery’s new tasting room (which is otherwise closed to the public) for exclusive two-person wine tastings and will also attend a private tasting at neighboring Merry Edwards winery.

At the hotel, guests will receive a bottle of Charlie Clay Pinot Noir with bacon chocolate truffles upon arrival, and they’ll have a three-course dinner created by Dustin Valette, chef of the Pigs & Pinot gala, at Charlie Palmer’s Dry Creek Kitchen restaurant. The menu will feature a local Pinot Noir with pork pairings; plus, those who book the package after the Pigs & Pinot event (held on March 23 and 24) will also get to taste its winning wine and a special plate created by chef Valette exclusively for the event. With dishes like leek soup with truffle crème fraîche, toasted brioche, and crisp prosciutto; and grilled pork chop marinated in garlic confit; you may not want your Pinot paired any other way.
