The steep, winding pathways that connect the 67 tree-house villas at the Four Seasons Resort Seychelles (+248.393.000, www.fourseasons.com) are not especially convenient for casual strolls. Fortunately, the views from the villas—and just about every other location at the resort—ensure that you are always happy staying put.
Opened in February 2009, the Four Seasons sits in an isolated inlet on Mahé, the main island in the Seychelles chain. Nestled amid mango and cinnamon trees, the resort’s villas encourage nesting, with private infinity-edge plunge pools, outdoor showers and living spaces, and glass-walled bathrooms that take full advantage of the breathtaking Petite Anse Bay views.
When you do wish to venture from your villa, chauffeured buggies whisk you on roller-coaster-like rides to the Four Seasons’ restaurants, lounges, main pool, and private beach, where a variety of boat tours and water sports can be arranged. But the pinnacle of any stay at the resort is the spa, located at the property’s highest point. Calming treatments such as the Hilltop Fusion massage, which blends Western and Asian rituals, offer some of the only good reasons to close your eyes while at the Four Seasons Seychelles.
