In the summer of 2010, Pilatus delivered its 1,000th PC-12, a number that shows the worldwide popularity of the versatile turboprop design. The big 330-cubic-foot cabin is useful for a variety of utility purposes, or it can be equipped for comfortable executive transport. The NG, or next-generation, version features Honeywell Primus Apex avionics and a powerful Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-67P engine that can power the plane in and out of even short, rough airfields. Pilatus, based in Switzerland, has built aircraft since 1939.
