Worth Knowing Domaine de Canton is the brainchild of third-generation liqueur entrepreneur John Cooper. Cooper learned the business from his father, Norton J. “Sky” Cooper, who owns Philadelphia-based Charles Jacquin et Cie. and is well known for introducing Chambord to the United States in the early 1980s. Inspired by the nascent artisan cocktail movement and the health benefits found in ginger, John spent two years developing the recipe for Domaine de Canton on his own. By early 2008, Domain de Canton was born.
