Miraflores Park Hotel

The 82-room Miraflores Park Hotel, located on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, often serves as a stopover for travelers on their way to Peru’s exotic locales. But the hotel’s fashionable Miraflores neighborhood is home to several treasures of its own, including a cliff-top park and an assortment of Spanish Colonial manors with multicolored tiles and carved-wood balconies. Nearby, the National Museum of Archaeology, Anthropology, and History displays a variety of Incan artifacts. Accommodations The 82 rooms include four presidential suites with living and Dining areas, hot tubs and saunas in the bathrooms, and (in three of the four suites) terraces with private plunge pools. Facilities A $4.6 million refurbishment in 2005 involved the addition of a spa and the enlargement of the ocean-view, rooftop swimming pool. Dining The Poissonnerie Restaurant serves Peruvian specialties in a European-style setting. Dine alfresco at the rooftop Observatory restaurant, and enjoy drinks at the cozy Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde Bar. Concierge Recommends Stroll to the Larcomar shopping center, which, in addition to nightclubs, boutiques, and restaurants, contains the new Museo Oro del Perú, where pre-Columbian treasures from the Miguel Mujica Gallo collection are on display. Rates From about $435 to $3,560.
