The six guest lofts at Sweni sit along the Sweni River, where hippos appear alarmingly close and baboons peer out from the lush vegetation. The lofts’ color palette reflects the jungle’s greenery, and the units’ glass-walled designs make for nearly imperceptible transitions between outdoors and in. Accommodations Fifteen lofts clinging to the side of a cliff at Lebombo, and six riverside lofts at Sweni. Recreation Morning and evening game drives in a safari vehicle. Walking safaris take place at noon, when the big cats are (hopefully) asleep. Dining Several times a week, the lodges hold bomas, or cookouts, under the stars in enclosures made of wooden poles. Worthy Diversion Drive one hour east to the Blyde River Canyon—the world’s third-deepest ravine—for rafting, birding, and helicopter safaris. Rates Suites at either camp are $1,030 per person, per day, including meals and two safaris daily.
