HM 1 features a radical new design and construction plus a totally original movement with 376 parts and 81 functional jewels. Only 30 per year are to be crafted for three years, available in either 18-karat white or red gold. While the most visual technical element of the movement is perhaps the rotating one-minute tourbillon on top of the dial, it is actually the four mainspring barrels that dominate HM 1’s design and construction. Two mainspring barrels on the left are wound directly by the distinctively shaped rotor, while the pair on the right are wound directly from the crown. Power is evenly distributed between the two pairs of barrels by a sophisticated gear train.
