Aubert 2004 Lauren Vineyard

Tasting notes: Magnificent misty gold color with a satin texture: pear, apricot, white peach layer atop a creamy custard that dissolves on the long finish to a bright pinpoint of acidity. Worth knowing: Since the launch of his own label, former Colgin winemaker Mark Aubert has pursued his first love: chardonnay. Although he makes pinot noir from the UV Vineyard (owned by Ulises Valdez, his vineyard manager), his reputation rests on his whites, which combine satiny, thick texture with lush fruit and vibrant mineral.
