Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupé

The Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupé (www.rolls-roycemotorcars.com) has a few of the same familial traits as its cousin, the convertible Drophead Coupé: rear-hinged coach doors, an optional brushed-stainless-steel hood, and an abbreviated version of the Drophead’s aluminum space frame. But the hardtop is more driver-friendly because of several alterations, including the obvious—the permanent roof, which is offered with an optional fiber-optic headliner that resembles a starry night sky. Stiffer rear dampers, modified spring rates, and a heftier rear antiroll bar also help to firm up Rolls’ trademark soft ride. Driving enthusiasts will enjoy activating the Sport mode (by pressing the S button located on the side of the steering wheel), which holds each gear longer and thus improves the already invigorating acceleration. The 6.75-liter V-12 engine propels the Phantom Coupé to 60 mph in about 5.6 seconds, en route to an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.
