Wally 55 Wallypower

With its triangular hull and sharply angled windshield, the Wally 55 Wallypower (+377.93100093, www.wally.com) exemplifies Monaco-based Wally’s unconventional approach to yacht and powerboat design. But the 57-
footer, which launched last October, also offers something new for a Wally powerboat: a fully open cockpit that affords an unusually expansive above-deck area. “If you look at the topsides,” says Luca Bassani, Wally’s president, CEO, and founder, “[the 55] has similar cockpit space to an 80-footer.”

The cockpit area comprises four distinct sections: the helm, a bow for sunbathing, a U-shaped seating area located midship, and a swim platform aft. The interior of the boat can be configured with either two or three staterooms, while power choices run the gamut from four 435 hp Volvo Penta D6 engines to twin 1360 hp MANs. “This last option is for those who love power,” says Bassani. “It can propel the boat to 55 knots and cruise at 50.” The price of the 55 Wallypower ranges from $2.4 million to $2.7 million, depending on engine choice.
