In 1875, two young men passionately dedicated to fine watchmaking, Jules-Louis Audemars (1851-1918), with his childhood friend, Edward-Auguste Piguet (1853-1919) decided to unite their skills in order to design and produce watches with complex mechanisms in the Vallée de Joux, the cradle of Haute Horlogerie. Their determination, imagination and discipline were soon to earn them noteworthly success.
